About the Central Coast
The Central Coast of New South Wales is a region 100 kilometres north of Sydney . The Central Coast boasts a population of 300,000 and is one of the fastest growing areas of Australia. It is a naturally beautiful region appealing to retirees and younger families who want to enjoy coastal living in easy commuting distance to the Sydney central business district and greater metropolitan area.

The Gosford church of Christ
The leading city on the Central Coast is Gosford and it contains a strong, vibrant church of Christ that is truly blessed. The congregation at Gosford commenced in July 1972 when John and Joan Stone and their family moved to the area, a total of three members. While it was a struggle in the early years, today there are 140 people meeting together, with the church growing from about 40 just six years ago.
Like the region, the congregation is diverse in age but united in love and spirit. At the time of writing, some 40 children under the age of 13 actively participate in congregational life and mix freely with the large contingent of elderly Christians in the congregation; a beautiful illustration of love and unity as three generations of people share their love for God and each other. In looking ahead, with the current children alone we will have a youth group of some 30 to 40 teenagers / young adults by the end of the decade.
The church currently worships in a local Community Centre, as it outgrew the church-owned premises. These premises have now been donated to STAMP for rent free usage. The congregation continues to grow and it believes it is accountable to use its God given talents, abilities and resources to help this congregation grow to a number in excess of 300 people
The congregation remains active with the church of Christ regionally and is gracious in sharing resources with programs like STAMP that need assistance.
