Christian Education

The Christian Education phase of STAMP is held at the Gosford Ministry Centre located on the Central Coast of NSW, just north of Sydney. The education is spread over two terms of 10 weeks.

Term 1 starts on Thursday 31 January, 2008 and ends on Friday, 11 April 2008. Term 2 starts on Monday, 28 April 2008 and ends on Friday, 4 July 2008. All students must be ready to attend the orientation days on the 29 & 30 January 2008.

A normal study week consists of 8, 2 hour study blocks. In a normal week the pattern of study will be:

Monday -           Morning + Afternoon study blocks
Tuesday -         Morning + Afternoon study blocks
Wednesday -   Morning study block only
Thursday -        Morning + Afternoon study blocks
Friday -              Morning study block only

The Christian Education phase is divided into three main subject groups. These are: MINISTRY PREPARATION, MINISTRY TRAINING and MINISTRY LIFE. Each group is designed to compliment the other to equip the student to have the best ministry experience possible. Completion of all 16 subjects is required by each STAMP student.

101 EXPLORING THE OLD TESTAMENT 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours This class will provide an overview of the Old Testament with an emphasis of the "Main Thread of the Old Testament".

102 EXPLORING THE NEW TESTAMENT 16 Blocks - Total of 32 hours This class will explore the ministry of Jesus and the progress of the Church He died to establish.

103 EXPLORING GOD'S ETERNAL PLAN 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours This course considers God's plan of salvation as it unfolds from before the foundation of the world to its intended fulfillment in the Church.

104 EXPLORING GREAT LIVES 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours Considers the lives of the greatest servants of God down through the ages.

105 EXPLORING THE EVIDENCE - GOD, ARE YOU REALLY THERE? 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours A study of the Biblical and extra Biblical evidence for God, Jesus and the Bible in light of contemporary philosophical and social thought.

106 EXPLORING BELIEF - CHRISTENDOM'S AND OTHER BELIEF 17 Blocks - Total of 34 hours Looks at the belief systems of the various major religions and philosophies of the world as well as the principal groups within Christendom.

201 FINDING THE MESSAGE 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours This series of classes will provide basic, practical guidelines on how to study the Bible.

202 HELP, I'VE GOT TO TEACH! 8 Blocks - Total of 16 Hours Students will learn how to prepare and present Bible Classes, taking into consideration the characteristics of various age groups from pre-schoolers to adults. The focus is on Sunday and midweek classes, as well as Scripture classes.

203 EVANGELISM - REACHING AND TEACHING OTHERS 18 Blocks - Total of 36 hours A consideration of various methods for reaching people with the Gospel together with an examination of various evangelistic Bible study methods and how to use them.

204 YOU'RE ASKING ME TO SPEAK IN PUBLIC? 12 Blocks - Total of 24 hours This series provides opportunity to develop public speaking skills by providing a forum in which classes and lessons are presented and critiqued.

205 MINISTRY IN TODAY'S CHURCH 14 Blocks - Total of 28 hours This series looks at ministry opportunities for both genders in today's church. It considers developing, structuring and delivering ministry programs in light of the dynamics of the contemporary church.

206 THE HEART OF WORSHIP 4 Blocks - Total of 8 hours As well as providing training to enable young people to lead in various aspects of worship, the course will also consider the aims of corporate worship and considerations of how to make such worship more effective.

301 FROM CLASSROOM TO CONGREGATION 8 Blocks - Total of 16 hours Classes will provide students with guidelines for personal conduct and development during the practicum and thereafter. Each unit of study has a dual role of helping the STAMP student in addition to giving them material to help others with.

302 THE TRUTH ABOUT LIFE, LOVE AND SEX 9 Blocks - Total of 18 hours Classes will provide students with an understanding of God's view of relationships, sex and marriage. Students will cover key themes of purity; media management; the dangers of pornography; finding the right partner; the difference between love, lust and infatuation; consequences of pre-marital sex; walking in the other gender's shoes for a day. Some gender specific classes.

303 GOD, CAREERS AND WORK 7 Blocks - Total of 14 hours This course will enable students to evaluate career choices in light of personal and spiritual considerations. The course will also discuss such matters as Christian work ethics, development of on-the-job skills, the Christian's relationship with their employer and fellow employees, and the Christian's influence for Christ within their work environment

304 THE CHRISTIAN'S FINANCES 7 Blocks - total of 14 hours Biblical principles and practical guidelines on how Christians can manage their income and expenditure. Key principles taught will be stewardship, giving, budgeting, debt, saving and investing.
